Growing together through shared learning and experiences
A successful mix of professional and cultural input, exchange, and team building: This year’s Trainee Day hosted by the BRK District Association Bayreuth clearly focused on promoting young talent in the nursing sector. Organized by Angelika Schmidt, coordinator of the practical instructors, the event offered a varied and engaging day for trainees from both inpatient and outpatient care facilities.
Space for Exchange and Team Spirit
The goal of the day was to provide future nursing professionals with a platform to share their training experiences, reflect together, and get to know each other better outside of their daily work routines. This personal exchange not only strengthened the sense of community, but also fostered mutual understanding of the challenges and opportunities in nursing education.
Learning with Practical Relevance
In addition to the social aspects, professional training also played a key role: Under the motto “learning from real-life situations,” trainees practiced the topic of patient positioning in a hands-on, practical way. Observation exercises on fall prevention — inspired by the concept of the “Room of Horror” — sharpened participants’ awareness of potential hazards in everyday nursing routines. In a specially designed training room, the trainees learned to identify risks and take preventive measures — essential skills for their future careers.

Feedback and Outlook
At the end of the day, all participants received a personalized certificate. During an open feedback session, the group reflected on the event together: What was particularly helpful? What could be improved next time? The feedback was consistently positive and provided valuable input for the planning of future trainee days.
Nursing Education with Heart and a Future
With events like the Trainee Day, the BRK District Association Bayreuth sends a strong message about the quality of nursing education – practical, forward-looking, and heartfelt across cultural boundaries.
