Top Earnings Already During Training – Attractive Career Prospects in BRK Nursing Education and Beyond

The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) offers nursing trainees an attractive salary and comprehensive benefits. With a mobility allowance, shift bonuses, and rapid salary increases after graduation, starting a nursing career with the BRK is doubly rewarding.
In times of rising living costs, the BRK is setting new standards in nursing education. Through its collective agreement (with the Verdi union), the BRK provides not only a meaningful career start but also a financially attractive entry into the workforce.

Financial Benefits That Stand Out

While many training programs struggle to keep up with increasing living expenses, a nursing apprenticeship with the BRK proves worthwhile in every respect. Aspiring nurses receive an average base salary of €1,493.18 throughout the three-year training (€1,268.56 for one-year nursing assistant training) – a top-tier wage compared to others in the sector, making the profession particularly appealing.

BRK Promotes Mobility

But it’s not just the base salary that makes a difference: with an additional monthly mobility allowance of €200 (gross), BRK trainees enjoy added financial freedom. Over three years, this totals €7,200 (gross). This support helps finance public transportation to school or placements, and can also go toward obtaining a driver’s license or even purchasing a car – a significant advantage in today’s increasingly mobile world.

Attractive Pay and Additional Benefits

BRK trainees benefit from a compensation package that recognizes their commitment under a fair, collectively agreed work schedule. In addition to their base salary and a €26.85 shift bonus, they receive extra pay for night, Sunday, and public holiday shifts – increasing their total income.

What’s more, the BRK provides valuable additional benefits that make the transition to working life smoother and ensure long-term financial security. This includes an occupational pension scheme through the Bavarian Municipal Supplementary Pension Fund, offering solid retirement provisions. Employees also receive a special annual payment in November, amounting to 80% of one month’s salary.

The BRK District Association in Bayreuth offers further attractive perks, including bike leasing schemes, comprehensive workplace health programs, and bonuses for short-notice shift coverage or extra duties.
