Qualification for Successful Collaboration in International Nursing Teams
As part of the Care & Career project at the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) District Association Bayreuth, two staff members recently successfully completed an important additional qualification: Ms. Chen Chen, Head of the Care & Career project, and Ms. Lena Röglinger, Integration Officer of the district association, successfully participated in the training program “Professional Qualification for Core Staff – Integration Coach.”
The qualification was offered by Arche Akademie Bayern as part of the project “Innovative Concepts for the Integration of Foreign Nursing Professionals through Qualification.” The project is funded through the ESF+ Bavaria 2021–2027 program by the European Union from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus). The initiative aims to support healthcare institutions in sustainably and professionally integrating international professionals into everyday working life.
Comprehensive Training with Practical Content
The training took place from January 8 to February 9, 2026, and included 50 teaching units, the preparation of a project paper, and a successful final evaluation. In seven consecutive modules, participants gained comprehensive insights into key topics related to integration and collaboration in international teams.
The qualification focused on topics such as the organizational responsibilities of an integration coach, awareness of differences in nursing education systems, and training aimed at strengthening awareness of discrimination and racism. Additional topics included intercultural communication, the role as a contact person for new colleagues within the institutions, and insights into various recruitment channels for international nursing professionals.
Goal: Strengthening Integration, Teamwork, and Employee Satisfaction
The course aims to establish structures within healthcare institutions that support collaboration in diverse teams. Integration coaches help promote respectful interaction in everyday work, strengthen teamwork, increase employee satisfaction, and support international nursing professionals during their recognition process.
At the same time, participants learn how to identify culturally related misunderstandings at an early stage and address them constructively, helping to create a positive working environment for everyone involved.
An Important Building Block for the Care & Career Project
With the successful completion of this training, Ms. Chen Chen and Ms. Lena Röglinger make an important contribution to the sustainable integration of international nursing professionals within the BRK District Association Bayreuth. The newly acquired skills help them support international colleagues even more effectively as they settle into their daily work and strengthen collaboration within the teams.
The qualification therefore represents another important component of the Care & Career project, which supports international nursing professionals not only professionally and linguistically, but also socially as they begin their new working and living environment in Bayreuth.
