A Special Movie Night at Cineplexx Bayreuth
As part of the Care & Career project of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) District Association Bayreuth, a special group activity recently took place: international nurses from the recognition course as well as nursing trainees from abroad visited Cineplexx Bayreuth together. The film shown was Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale.
First Cinema Visit in Germany – A Small Language Challenge
For many of the participants, it was their first time going to the cinema in Germany – and they started with a 118-minute British family saga. This was a small challenge, especially for those who are still learning the language. At the same time, the movie night offered a great opportunity to experience the German language and everyday culture in a relaxed atmosphere.
Meeting and Exchange Beyond the Work Environment
The aim of the joint activity was to encourage interaction outside the workplace. Activities like this help colleagues get to know each other better, strengthen the sense of community within the team, and make it easier for international staff members to settle in Bayreuth. Especially for new colleagues from abroad, encounters like these are important for building connections and feeling at home more quickly in their new environment.

The participants were accompanied by Ms. Chen, project manager of Care & Career, as well as Lena Röglinger, who will soon support the internal integration management within the district association.
Shared Experiences Strengthen Team Spirit
The strong participation of the new employees clearly showed that shared experiences create connections. Activities such as this cinema visit promote integration, strengthen team spirit, and also bring joy to the shared working environment.

The Care & Career project supports international nurses and trainees in settling into their professional, linguistic, and social roles in everyday work – and joint activities are an important building block on this path.
