With the “Care and Career” project, the BRK District Association Bayreuth is taking a clear stand against the shortage of skilled workers in the care sector. The goal is to recruit international nursing professionals to work in Bavaria while creating long-term prospects for successful integration.
A central component of the project is the close collaboration with partner organizations in China. Delegations from the BRK District Association Bayreuth have already traveled to China twice to strengthen the exchange and further develop the cooperation. This year, the partnership continues: another delegation will travel to China to provide new impulses and further expand the collaboration.
Whereas the previous trips were mainly attended by staff members of the BRK District Association Bayreuth—led by District Managing Director Markus Ruckdeschel and International Recruitment Officer Chen Chen—this year the project is being placed on a broader footing: for the first time, the district managing directors of the BRK District Associations Kulmbach (Stefan Adam), Lichtenfels (Thomas Petrak), and South Franconia (Rainer Braun), as well as Armin Petermann, Deputy State Managing Director of the Bavarian Red Cross, and Mandy Schumann, Nursing Officer for the BRK District of Upper and Middle Franconia, will join the trip. This reflects the planned expansion of the project: in the future, “Care and Career” aims to recruit nursing professionals not only for Bayreuth but also for other BRK District Associations.
The delegation trip began with a kick-off event in Bayreuth. In a relaxed atmosphere over Chinese snacks, the delegation participants met for an initial personal exchange with Chinese staff already working for the BRK District Association Bayreuth.
